The Lancet journals are a major contributor to health and medical media coverage worldwide. Journalists in health/medicine can benefit from an embargoed press-release service co-ordinated by our London and New York offices. The most important articles from The Lancet journals will be published online on a daily basis, ahead of subsequent print publication. A daily press release associated with the article in question will be released at least 24 hours before online publication. For The Lancet, a table of contents and all items within the journal will be available from 1400 h UK time on the Wednesday before print publication. Embargo PolicyThe Lancet journals operate a strict embargo policy for the press-release service. Journalists are welcome to contact article authors after press-release distribution, but must not publish or broadcast before the embargo has lifted. We also ask that, as a condition of receiving Lancet press releases, that the correct Lancet journal be credited as the source of the research.
